The couple’s objective was for a home cinema that resembled a professional theatre with enough space for 13 people, where they could indulge in their love of music, movies, sport, and entertaining. The cinema needed to deliver a fully immersive big screen experience for the entire audience, regardless of their position in the room, and deliver amazing audio that would not be impacted by noise from nearby rooms.
The equipment was specifically chosen for its performance, discreet appearance, and great functionality. The cinema features a Screenline FFB fixed frame borderless screen alongside a SIM2 projector to deliver a cinematic experience with fantastic definition, sharp imagery, and 3D capabilities. Timber panel, shelving, and cabinetry provide additional panel resonator sound absorption and soft diffusion for performance acoustics. Clarke Infinity created a 1m deep projection room at the rear of the space with soundproofed walls to house the projector, AV, and control equipment.
Lutron lighting installed along the wall, step, and skirting delivers an authentic feel and polished finish. The lighting complements the décor, and the intuitive controls and customised keypads create the perfect scene with a single button press. The Palladio Kensington seating, the dark grey finish of the Barrisol Cinematech acoustic treatment, and the Paul Karslake’s artwork that was especially commissioned for the cinema, tie the room together aesthetically.
The client commented: “The end result has blown me away. The quality of sound is more impressive than we could have imagined. The cinema is easily our favourite room of the new house.”
