BNC Technology was contracted to design an automated home with high definition video in some rooms, and a combination of high-resolution audio in areas that the homeowner spends a lot of time in, and high-powered audio distribution for main entertainment areas. As the client lives alone, BNC Technology designed a system that controls all other rooms when the client is in one wing of the large property.
The media room has been designed for viewing sports during the weekends (as well as the occasional movie). Surround sound was installed comprising of an acoustically transparent screen, projector with a vertical mirror mount, DSP floor-standing speakers with a hidden center channel behind the screen, a pair of in-ceiling speakers, and a subwoofer.
Access to power is a constant issue in the client’s location, so the system has been designed with power conditioning for protection from electrical surges, and to feed components based on importance. The home has been designed for future upgrades of underwater speakers and the equipment racks have a lot for room for additional components — the raised flooring in the utility room will allow BNC Technology to run future cables and keep it as beautiful as the rest of the home.
