A newly built Palladian style three-story country home set among 53 acres of parkland on the edge of Savernake Forest, this project became an AV delight for the clients, who, in their own words, are “technologically capable, but not nerds.” They like the best, however, they are not overly ostentatious.
To balance aesthetic impact on the design and audio quality, TwentyTwo Integration opted for high-quality plastered-in speakers in all rooms with audio. Being installed during the construction phase and invisible behind a thin layer of plaster, by selecting the optimum Nakymatone model of speaker suited to each room, the audio quality was not compromised.
TwentyTwo Integration used the lighting design produced by the interior designer for their panel schedule drawings. This meant that the team could pre-program the system off-site. The sleek design of the Lutron Palladiom keypads allowed for control of both the lighting and blinds. The buttons were engraved to ensure intuitive control and matched the Crestron interface for uniformity. The window treatments included both blackout and sheer privacy blinds and utilized Lutron’s Roller 64 blind mechanisms. The interior designer supplied the fabric for the sheer privacy blinds which the integrator fitted to the mechanism.
In keeping with the design aesthetic for minimal impact in rooms, all switch-level control devices such as lighting keypads, touchscreens, and thermostats were recessed with Wall-Smart flush mount products and a sleek white glass finish used. As an “Aging in Place” project (it will serve the owners well as they age), TwentyTwo Integration used larger buttons and designs on the keypads and touchscreens.
